Like father...like son in Baguio

My 2 Ej's...they may not look alike but they do act very much alike...

(Digi kit used is from shabbyprincess)

We visited Baguio last October 2007...it was a fun trip. I maybe in Baguio almost every year but I consider this a memorable one....It was my first time to be there with my own family. Many firsts have happened in this trip...

> It was my baby Joaquin's first visit to Baguio (i'm sure that this will not be his first)

> It was my first time to try HalfMoon's bibingcrepe....they are the best. The place is located
near Mines View Park....They have a branch in Timog Ave and SM North if you are just in the Metro.

>It was my first time to try this pizza place in Mile-Hi.... I forgot the resto's name (old me..), but I'm sure there's only one pizza place in Mile-Hi, so you won't have a hard time looking for it. I'll surely go back to this place when I'm in Baguio.

> It was also my first time to visit a flower farm in barrio Mabahong, La Trinidad...man, the place was very far (it's way past over the famous Strawberry Farm) and the roads going to the place were all steep. I was literally holding my breath the whole time we were going down the farm and going back up to the main road. The roads have only one lane, but vehicles go two way, so you really have to be very cautious.

>It was also my first time to see the strawberry farms with no strawberries (huhuhu). It wasn't the peak season for them, that's why you'll see very minimal strawberries and most of them are in greens.

Baguio maybe a typical vacation place..but still, nothing beats the cool weather in this place.... I hope they can do something about the vehicles contributing to the air pollution hovering the city.

...til my next Baguio visit, hehehe.

Sweet 28 and a Tiffany

I turned a year older last Friday...28 it is. This is a memorable birthday for it is the first time that I'm celebrating it as a mom and a wife... how wonderful it is to wake up on my special day with my husband and little baby giving me birthday kisses first thing in the morning, and my little boy handing to me their present....how sweet and how cute they are...if only that moment was recorded on cam..it's like a commercial on TV...hehehe....what makes it extra special is the Tiffany necklace I got as my gift...my husband is the sweetest, he knew I wanted that ever since, but we were postponing to buy one since we have more important financial matters to take care of...but still he wanted to surprise me with it... It's a cutie necklace with pendants of T, &, Co. love it so much! and i love more my husband and my baby. =)

a busy long weekend

It's always nice to have long weekends, more time to relax, more time for fun, more time for other extra-curricalar activities other than work. Since it was too late for me and my husband to plan for an out of town trip, we just spent the weekend at our home province (as always). It was a productive, tiring and fun weekend for the two of us.

We were able to come up with decisions on the finishing details of our dream house. We met with the contractors and interior designer, to discuss these details. I couldn't imagine that building a house could be this exhausting... details, details, details = headaches, headaches, headaches.

My husband was rooting for a massage ever since, And so last Friday, we passed by this new spa and tried their services. The place was pretty nice, it was like a mini-version of the Nurture Spa in Tagaytay minus the cool breezy air. But the place was cozy and very clean. We opted to have a combination of Swedish and Shiatsu massage. For 4 hundred pesos (per person), we got an hour of pure massage and stretching exercises, it was a bargain! It was closer to being great! We would come back to this place, definitely!

Extra time was spent at home, playing with our son.

Sunday is always a family day at my parent's place. As usual, we went to Church and had lunch in a nearby mall. Afterwhich, we strolled a bit around the mall and was able to buy some baby stuff for my kid, and a couple of shirts for me and my husband.

Oh and lastly, I was able to start jogging...thank God! Coz I really need exercise, not that I'm gaining weight, but I just feel that I really need to, to get the adrenalin start pumping in. I just missed the old me -- I was an exercise-freak/health buff before...I used to go to a boxing gym. I missed boxing. I also used to jog with some friends before. Also, my husband is a badminton-enthusiast, we used to play thrice a week before we got married. But with all the life-changing events coming before me, I'm missing all those activities, haay...

I'll post some pics of our dream house-under construction. I just need to digiscrap them before posting hehehe...

Killing time and a story

got nothing to do at home after work and so I decided to digiscrap, here's another creation by yours truly... it's just a simple one, seems like creative ideas are not coming my way, maybe next time.

The kit I used for this layout is from shabbyprincess.

Side story: This picture was taken minutes after I gave birth to Joaquin. My little boy didn't give me a hard time during my labor and delivery...would you believe I was in labor for almost 4 hours only... I was at the hospital at around 8 pm and Joaquin came out few minutes before 12 midnight. Nurses were more than happy coz I didn't give them headaches. Yes I did feel pain especially when the contractions were becoming stronger, but I wasn't the typical woman in labor, no shoutings, no tears, no qualms. I guess (and the nurses thinked the same way too), that my pain tolerance level is very high. I was alone in the labor room w/ only 2 nurses looking after me. I was quietly praying, doing my breathing exercises and feeling every contraction that came my way. Few minutes past 11 pm, I was in the delivery room w/ my OB, instructing me to push the right way and at the right time. Nurses were helping me by pushing my tummy down... I don't remember how many pushes I made but I'm sure they didn't exceed 10. It was a tiring process, I almost lost my enery to push but I didn't give up....Few minutes after, I heard Joaquin's first cry...unbelievable.......I got unconscious after that, next thing I know I was in my room already, with my husband, mom & dad and mom-in-law.

Digi-scrapper Wannabe!

I'm a frustrated scrapbook maker. 3 or 4 years ago, I bought an empty scrapbook, collected scrapping materials - different papers, embellishments, ribbons, colored pens, colored glues, etc...I even collected pictures (old and new ones) and put them in my scrapbook box....if you'll ask me how it is right now, oh well, it's not even 1/4 full... but atleast I was able to fill a couple or 3 pages...hehehe..... lot of stuff that are lovely to scrap but it seems I can't find time to do them.

Apparently, in one of my blog-hopping sessions, I came across about digital scrapbooking, I saw samples of digi-scrapped pics and I was amazed (really!) how they looked...artsy! hippy! ...then I started googling about digiscrap. I became really interested and so I did some more research about it...and two days ago I just created my first ever digiscrap...here it is...

cool huh! I followed a tutorial from freedigitalscrapping in creating this. =)

I can't get enough of this digiscrapping thing, that everytime I'm done with my work, I would download kits, embellishments, etc.... now I have my own collection already. I tried it again on Joaquin's pic, it's an original concept...take a look...

cutie baby on a cutie digi-layout... (layout from shabbyprincess)

Now I can say, I'm not a frustrated scrapbook maker...I'm a digi-scrapper wannabe and I think I'm beginning to be a digi-scrap addict! hehehe!

I'm sure you'll see some more of them in my future posts....for the meantime, ciao!

My bundle of joy has turned 4 months old

Joaquin had just turned 4 months old last Friday, September 21, 2007. Time flies so fast, from a very fragile little baby, and now, he is such a bubbly, bouncy, and oh so kulit cutie little boy.

We celebrated his 4th month birthday with some Carbonara, baked mussels and french bread, which I prepared by myself. Actually, it was a two-day celebration coz the day before Sept 21, some relatives went to our Pampanga home and teased me to celebrate Joaquin's birthday on that day since they are already with us... I gave in and bought a bilao of Palabok, puto & kutsinta and some siomai for merienda.

Joaquin has grown a lot.... from a 7-pounder infant, he is now 16 lbs.... from a fragile and a sleep-all-day infant, he is now a very active, happy and bubbly baby boy....from a lying-on-his-back sleeper, he is now a tummy sleeper (he just turns around within a split of second, everytime he is put to his crib).

Time flies really fast...

I'm blogging...believe it or not!

This is my first attempt to blog...hope I'll be successful with it. I wanted to share a part of me to everyone I know and who knows me, I guess, blogging is the best way to do it. I'll be writing memories, stories, ideas, opinions or anything that I find worth-sharing to my friends and loved ones.

Welcome to my blog! =)
